HILTI, a manufacturer and distributor of professional tools and fitting systems for construction industry and industrial maintenance of buildings, announced that the company had selected Optimum GIS to automate delivery services in Russia.

HILTI uses leased vehicles to deliver products to clients all over Russia. The goal of the automation project is to put some processes related to management and distribution of deliveries, collection of equipment for service maintenance, and monitoring of cargo flows under the company’s control.

According to D. A. Kravchenko, head of the delivery services of ZAO ‘Hilti Distribution Ltd.’, the programs for planning deliveries and monitoring vehicles and the mobile application that automates operations of shipping agents, all incorporated into Optimum GIS, fulfill all the company’s requirements for transport logistics in several Russian regions.

Optimum GIS, the solution that automates delivery services, will enables the company’s logistics specialists to plan routes and monitor delivery of cargo in the Moscow, Sverdlovsk, Rostov, and Novosibirsk regions and the Khabarovsk territory from a single dispatcher center. An important factor in selecting the system for planning deliveries and monitoring vehicles was that the CDC Group developed an additional functionality that enables notifying customers in automatic mode about changes in the scheduled delivery time using SMS messages.
