Optimum Industrial IoT Platform provides effective monitoring of the state of limiting production, technological and infrastructure equipment - machines, power transformers, industrial compressors and pumps and other units - using quickly installed non-invasive sensors (installation and calibration without stopping production - less than 2 hours per unit of equipment).
The monitoring system developed on the Platform analyzes sensor readings and predicts the operation of equipment, even if it is distributed over a large area. The system provides online monitoring of sensors installed on machines, transformers, compressors and other industrial equipment that requires constant monitoring to reduce downtime and breakdowns. Sensor data is transmitted to mobile devices and computers of responsible persons and allows for prompt response to emergency situations.
The use of a monitoring system can significantly reduce unjustified downtime of production equipment, increase OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and productivity, and improve the quality of work.
Tasks to be solved
- Obtaining reliable information on the actual equipment load and personnel work.
- Timely detection of developing unit defects.
- Formation of a “help chain”. Escalation of problems related to equipment downtime.
- Ensuring 100% compliance with safety requirements.
- Reducing the time required to carry out repair work.
- Accumulation and analysis of collected data.
The system includes the following software:
- The Optimum Hub server module is designed to receive and process data from sensors, convert the received data into parameter values and save the data in the Optimum database.
- The Optimum web application provides all available data in a convenient and understandable form (objective data on equipment operation, information on the reasons for equipment downtime, etc.).
- The Optimum Platform software is designed for data exchange between mobile applications of the operator and the head (foreman, etc.).
- The Optimum Controller application is designed to process and filter data received from sensors and then transfer it to a broker device. The application is installed on equipment that has sensors connected to it.
- The Optimum Broker application is designed to collect data from controllers and transmit the collected data to the Optimum Hub module. The application is installed on broker devices.
- Mobile application.
The mobile application provides the following functional capabilities:
- Processing idle notifications, escalation of “alarms”.
- Generating a report on the CUR (Capacity Utilization Rate) for maintenance.
- Closing an alarm for maintenance.
- Generating a summary report on the CUR for all maintenance.
- Generating a summary report on the structure of losses.
As a result of the operation of the monitoring system at the pilot production site, productivity increased by 40% owing to reduction in the equipment downtime caused by organizational reasons and optimization of schedules and retooling. Availability of reliable and timely information about the actual load of the equipment and the reasons for its downtime made it possible to monitor the operations of the plant on a daily basis and identify in advance shortfall in production target.
