The certification possibilities of power grids’ critical infrastructure have been expanded in the Optimum MRO

The CDC Group has expanded the functionality of the Optimum Mobile Workers Management System (Optimum MWMS) for Maintenance and Repair (M&R) in the "Electric Power" configuration. A toolkit for taking coordinates of non-point objects (for example, sections of underground cable lines, etc.) has been added to the system.

The OPTIMUM MWMS is designed to plan and monitor the work of field personnel performing equipment maintenance and repair. All operations at the facilities are listed in the task, the employee performs them step by step and marks the statuses in the mobile application. The time and place of operations are automatically recorded using GPS data and other markers (for example, NFC tags, RFID, QR codes).

To designate various point ground objects on the map, for example, power line towers, latitude and longitude are sufficient, but to display non-point objects, a whole set of coordinates is required. Non-point objects include sections of a cable line in water, sections of an overhead cable line, sections of a cable line in the ground or in a cable structure, sections of an overhead line in a trunk, cable lines in water and in the ground, substations, and other critical objects. Such objects are displayed as lines or polygons on the map.

To carry out certification of non-point objects of the power grid, an employee can manually mark the coordinates or walk along the signal columns (or other marks) from the beginning to the exit of the cable to the surface. The coordinates of the object are automatically entered into the OPTIMUM SUMS and transferred further — to the automated process control system, MES or to another system for managing production processes and assets. In hard-to-reach places, manual specification of coordinates on the map is possible.

Alexey Goryachev, General Director of CDC Group Managing Company says, “The new capabilities of the OPTIMUM MWMS will help operators of electrical networks, including promptly recovering power supply problems, as well as coordinating work with construction organizations.”
